Our daughter has just turned four and has been attending this daycare since she was around seven months old, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with the care she’s received over the years. The educators are absolutely wonderful, always so friendly, approachable, and genuinely happy to chat. You can tell they truly care about the children and create such a supportive, loving environment. Even while I’m currently on maternity leave, I recently stopped by with my seven-month-old son and was reminded of just how warm and welcoming this place is. The team made me a coffee and took the time to sit and chat, it really feels like a community, not just a daycare. It gives us so much confidence knowing our children are in such a nurturing space, and we’re so excited for our son to start there soon as well. Highly recommend to any families looking for a caring and supportive daycare.

I cannot recommend Creative Childcare Hunter St enough! Their director Sarah has been nothing but supportive of our family since moving to the area and attending their facility. We have struggled with a difficult transition for daughter, and every single staff member has been supportive, proactive and communicated what they think will work best to support her

Knowing that your child is loved and cared for is number 1 priority when choosing a daycare. Add on extended hours, all meals cooked onsite, optional “date night”s monthly are all icing on the cake. Thanks for being such wonderful educators!

Great centre led by a stable, genuine, passionate & highly competent leadership team who have established an awesome team of quality, friendly & enthusiast staff. The communication with families is excellent with detailed daily stories & photos, monthly newsletters & regular updates via the app. The chef makes healthy & creative lunches & snacks to keep the kids well-fed & exposed to new foods. I love the way the educators pay attention to children’s’ interests & design group activities/tables with these in mind. I also love the way the centre brings in a variety of expert community partners like Action Kids & their Indigenous Cultural Advisor as well as organising visits from local police, firies & ambos (& their vehicles, which the kids love). Lots of appreciation for this great team! ❤️

My son has attended creative Kotara since he was one years old, and we can’t fault their level of care . Nothing has ever too much of a problem And everything is met with a mixture of professionalism and respect in putting the child’s needs first. He’s always such a happy boy at pick up and the art based activities are my favourite to take home . Fresh meals cooked daily with Megan are also such a bonus 🙂
Couldn’t speak more highly of Creative Childcare Kotara! The educators and staff are warm, caring and professional and genuinely care about the children they care for. Our daughter loves her daycare days. It’s a wonderful daycare that I would recommend to anyone!

We've had our four kids attend Creative Child Care over the past 10 years, and we couldn't be happier with the care they've received. Every one of our children has been welcomed into a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where they've been encouraged to learn, grow, and build confidence. The educators are caring, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Communication has always been excellent, and it's clear the team goes above and beyond to support both the children and their families. We can't thank everyone at Creative Child Care enough for the positive impact they've had on our family over the years. We highly recommend them to any parents looking for a caring and trustworthy childcare centre.

It’s hard to put into words how much I love Creative Childcare, Kotara. The centre is instrumental in the development of my son and as a first time mum I feel like we are both always learning so much from the extremely knowledgeable educators. It puts me at ease knowing my son is part of such a safe, creative, diverse and welcoming environment.

My daughter has thrived since starting at Creative Childcare Kotara. The educators have provided a warm and safe environment for her and she feels very comfortable while there. I’m very impressed with the director Michelle as she goes above and beyond for the educators, children and their families especially in regards to their child safety practices.

So accommodating and flexible! My little girl loves attending 2 days a week, she knows everybody’s name in her class and talks often about her fave teachers and friends when we are at home. The love the girls give to the children is amazing. Forever thankful 😌

Highly recommend. We have been very happy with our time at Creative. Our child has grown so much here, due in no small part to the how Michelle and Bree lead a staff full of dedicated educators. Communication to parents is strong, the play areas are very generous and there is a really family feel to the centre which is beautiful.

We enrolled youngest child (of 4) into Creative Childcare Hamilton after having moved to Newcastle last October. It's fair to say, as a centre it's the most like our former Sydney day care out of all we considered. This is a huge factor, because we found several local day cares to be apparently sub-par by comparison. CCH Centre Director, Cheyenne runs a tight ship. Educators onsite are professional and caring (and careful). Our daughter loved going, and shared her daily adventures with us each evening. She is now totally school ready. Thank you team. Special shout out to Jorja.

My daughter started in the baby room recently and being my first child I didn’t really know what to expect from a daycare. Creative Childcare Hunter St took all the nerves and worry away immediately, the staff are so friendly and lovely and they go above and beyond. I know my girl is in the best hands and she genuinely loves going there, she’s thriving! Wish I could give more than 5 stars

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Hunter Street open earlier than other centres?

We open from 6:30am to support families with early starts, whether that’s an early shift, a commute into the CBD, or simply a family routine that starts before most centres open their doors.

What's the parking and drop-off like at Hunter Street?

With easy parking close by and a location in the heart of Newcastle West, drop off and pick up are designed to be quick and stress free, even on a tight morning schedule.

Are the murals and play spaces just for decoration, or part of the learning experience?

They’re very much part of it. Our Jungle Book themed play space, complete with sensory path and sandpit, and the blue whale mural at the entrance are designed to spark imagination and turn everyday moments into opportunities for discovery.

Is Creative Childcare Hunter Street connected to the other Creative Childcare centres?

Yes. As a family owned business with centres across Newcastle, Hunter Street shares the same values, educational approach and quality standards as our Kotara and Hamilton centres, while having its own team, spaces and community.

What ages does Hunter Street cater for, and how are the rooms structured?

We welcome children aged six weeks to six years, across five purpose designed rooms, each supporting a different stage of development from infancy through to school readiness.

What's included in the daily fee?

Meals, nappies and wipes are all included, along with access to our play-based educational programs and school readiness program, so there’s less to organise before drop off each day.

How do you help children settle in when they're new to the centre?

With low staff turnover, children build relationships with the same familiar educators over time, which helps make the settling in process smoother for children and reassuring for parents.

How will I know what my child got up to during the day?

We use the OWNA app to share updates on learning, meals, sleep and special moments throughout the day, along with photos so you can see it for yourself.

Can I book a tour before deciding?

Yes, we’d encourage it. A personalised tour gives you a chance to see the murals and play spaces firsthand, meet the team, and get a feel for whether Hunter Street is the right fit for your family.
